£34,000–£38,000 | 3yrs+ Experience Required!
In this role, you'll be managing and processing payrolls for a varied portfolio of clients within an established accountancy practice, handling everything from monthly payroll runs to pensions, HMRC submissions and client queries.

The Company & Role
We're working with an accountancy practice based in Southampton who are looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Assistant to join their team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a variety of clients, taking ownership of their workload and being part of a collaborative team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients
- Calculating PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments and other deductions
- Preparing and submitting RTI returns to HMRC
- Managing workplace pension contributions and auto-enrolment requirements
- Handling starters, leavers, P45s, P60s and other payroll documentation
- Liaising directly with clients, answering payroll queries and providing ongoing support
About You
We're looking for someone with at least 3 years' payroll experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice or bureau environment.
You'll be confident managing payrolls independently, have a good understanding of UK payroll legislation and enjoy working with clients.
The role is fully office-based, although our client can offer flexibility when needed.
