About the Role

The Company

A new partner of ours based in Royston is looking for an accounts manager to join the rapidly growing team with 60+ staff! With a varied portfolio of clients, you’ll be hands-on in managing client relationships, ensuring long-lasting and beneficial relationships.

The Responsibilities

As an Accounts manager you’ll be responsible for…

  • Take overall responsibility for client projects, making sure work is accurate and ready for partner review with only the big questions left to discuss.
  • Work on multiple assignments at once, keeping everything on track to meet deadlines, budgets, and billing targets.
  • Be the go-to contact for clients — answering any questions and therefore building strong, lasting relationships.
  • Write professional letters, reports, and submissions for partner review, and confidently lead client meetings.
  • Guide the team’s work to keep standards high, solve problems as they arise, and share new technical knowledge and ideas.
  • Keep up with industry and technical developments, researching issues and working with partners to find the best solutions.
  • Support and develop your team — from mentoring and setting clear goals to reviewing work and making sure it’s ready for partner sign-off.

What We’re looking for

  • ACA/ACCA qualified.
  • 3 or more years post-qualification experience within an accountancy practice.
  • Proven skills in supporting and building long-lasting client relationships.
  • Broad accounts and tax knowledge, enough to advise clients directly.
  • Proficient in packages such as Sage, IRIS, Xero, QuickBooks, etc.
  • Experience in managing client assignments.
